1911 Coronation 1/2d & 1d, Norwood CDS

22nd June 1911 Coronation Day 1/2d & 1d Downey Head, plus the 1/2d from the letter card has been added, Norwood CDS, plain registered cover, Oswald Marsh cachet address. Also has a receiving mark from Norwood dated from the next day.

The first George V definitives, known as the Downey Head, were based on a three-quarter profile photograph of the King taken by court photographers W. & D. Downey. Printed by Harrison and Sons, the ½d is set in a Dolphin frame & 1d a Lion.
