1911 Coronation ½d Green & 1d Red

22nd June 1911 Coronation Day cover with the ½d Green and 1d Red stamps plus the ½d Green from the postcard which has been affixed neatly to the cover; each cancelled by a Norwood CDS. Both the postcard and stamps were released on the same day. This was produced by leading stamp dealer of the day Oswald Marsh. Both stamps on one cover is catalogued at £275 by Bradbury.

The first George V definitives, known as the Downey Head, were based on a three-quarter profile photograph of the King taken by court photographers W. & D. Downey. Printed by Harrison and Sons, the ½d is set in a Dolphin frame & 1d a Lion.
