The Battle of North Cape was a naval engagement that took place on December 26, 1943. It was part of the larger conflict in the Arctic known as the Battle of the Atlantic. The battle involved British and German naval forces and resulted in the sinking of the German battleship Scharnhorst, one of the most powerful surface vessels in the German fleet.
