1st September 1936 Edward VIII ½d, 1½d & 2½d with a Ludgate Circus, London registered CDS (the 1d value was not released until the 14th). Suburban Stamp Company cover and printed address, a scarce illustration.

Only four GB stamps were issued during his reign. The first three values were released on 1st September 1936, with the 1d following two weeks later on the 14th. The portrait was based on a photograph taken by Hugh Cecil, with the clean and simple designs reflecting Edwards own tastes and breaking away from the traditional and intricate details of his predecessors.
