1934 Robert Wyndham India Parachute Jump

1934 First Parachute Delivery in India, Calcutta postmark & Robert Wyndham parachute cachet. This was carried by Wyndham on his jump at the first Indian Air Pageant & is certified on the reverse by Stephen Smith, Secretary of the Indian Air Mail Society. Wyndham was famous for his exhibition parachute jumps for a flying circus & became a test pilot in his own right. He had many accidents during his dangerous career but even losing his left arm didn’t stop him from continuing with his jumps!
