1932 Imperial Airways South Africa - England, Crash Mail
1932 South Africa to England double crash airmail. Imperial Airways Speedbird illustrated cover of which there were 200 flown. First flown on the 'City of Basra' which crashed at take-off in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia. The mail was transferred to the 'City of Delhi' which suffered an emergency landing in a swamp near Broken Hill, South Africa. The mail arrived at Croydon, England nine days late on 16th February.
