1932 Graf Zeppelin Germany - England Flight
1932 LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin Germany - England flight. This was the second flight of the LZ 127 to Great Britain. Flown Zeppelin postcard with the 2nd July Friedrichshafen postmark and gold flight cachet of St Paul’s Cathedral. The postcard continued to America and has a Cleveland, Ohio arrival datestamp.
On 2nd July 1932, the LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin departed Friedrichshafen for its second ever flight to London. After landing at Hanworth just after 7pm, the Graf quickly departed on a 24 hour round Britain flight including flying over Portsmouth, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff & Southampton, before returning to Hanworth. Another quick turn around saw her take off just after 8:30pm on the 3rd July for the return flight, taking in a tour of central London over Tower Bridge before flying south to Margate and then onward to Friedrichshafen where she arrived the following morning on the 4th.
