1929 Postal Union Congress Stationery

1929 Postal Union Congress Stationery

10th May 1929 PUC low values with a Postal Union Congress, London CDS postmark on the official Congress stationery. These stationery first days are hard to find. A rare opportunity to acquire one in good condition.

The ninth Postal Union Congress opened in London on the 10th May 1929, with the new stamps issued on the same day. Despite some mixed initial reaction to a new set of commemorative stamps, (King George V was known to not be a fan of more commemorative issues), general sales were very successful and the set has become a classic.
