175th Anniversary of the Penny Post, Bath

The 6th May 2015 marked the 175th Anniversary of the first ever postage stamp, the Penny Black. Our cover celebrates this milestone anniversary with two Penny Blacks and two Penny Blue stamps and a Bath FDI postmark; the first place that the Penny Black was ever used.

The official issue date of this brand new stamp was the 6th May, however, it was made available from the 1st May and some post offices sold it unofficially, so there are covers that exist with the 1st and 2nd May.
