1940 Centenary of the Uniform Penny Post, Andover postmark, Robson Lowe address
The Uniform Penny Postage bought cheap postage to the masses in January 1840, then in May that year it was superseded by the issue of the Penny Black. The Centenary on 10th January 1940 was marked by stamp dealers Robson Lowe who issued these covers reproducing postmarks from 1840 for 11 towns and cities from around the country.
