1931 Imperial Airways London - South Africa special experimental Christmas mail. Imperial Airways Buck illustrated cover and signed by pilot Walter Rogers. A scarce cover as only 12 were signed by him out of the 127 total flown to Africa.

Walter Rogers served in the Royal Flying Corps during WWI before joining Imperial Airways in 1924 as one of their original 16 pilots. He flew thousands of hours on the European routes without a single accident.
