Biography of Shirley EatonShirley Eaton was born in London in 1937 and raised in the suburb of Harrow Weald. She began acting as a child, taking to the stage at the age of 12 in "Set To Partners" in 1949. She first appeared on TV in Robert Morley's comedy series "Parent-Craft" in 1951. After a series of small film roles she appeared with Dirk Bogarde in "Doctor in the House" in 1954. In 1957 Shirley competed to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest, reaching the national semi-finals. Amongst a string of movie roles she appeared in 3 of the early "Carry On" films and 2 TV episodes of "The Saint" before she landed her most famous role as Jill Masterson in the 1964 movie, "Goldfinger", the third in the James Bond series. Her character was employed by the villainous Auric Goldfinger to enhance his reputation and his luck at cards. However, her attraction to 007 proved fatal and her vengeful demise became one of the most famous talked about of all the Bond girls, as she appeared covered from head to toe in gold paint, having died from "suffocation of the skin", a notion that is still argued about today.
