One Small Step for Man...![]() New Autograph! For a limited time, we can take orders for this sheet signed by Col. Dave Scott, 7th Man on the Moon - for delivery in October 2009. Find out more.
July 20th, 1969: As the world held it’s breath, Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the moon. Six hours after the Apollo 11 Mission crew landed, Armstrong stepped out of the Lunar Module and onto the surface, uttering perhaps the most famous and most quoted line in history. "Buzz" Aldrin followed shortly after and the two of them spent the next 21 hours on the moon before returning to the Command Module where Michael Collins was waiting for them. Although NASA carried out a further six manned moon landings between 1969 and 1972, it was this very first landing that inspired the world to look to the stars and beyond. Official National Science Museum Presentation PackTo mark the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the moon landing, we have produced this rather special stamp sheet presentation pack and we are proud to have worked with the National Science Museum on the project. The images on the labels are from the Science & Society Archives Total number of sheets printed: 1969 Signed Editions2 actual Moonwalkers signed our stamp sheet for us:
Dr Mitchell was the 6th man to walk on the moon and recently amazed the world by saying that he had seen UFO’s. Col. Scott was the 7th man on the moon and is an expensive autograph, which is why we only arranged for him to sign a few! These will probably only be to order, so book yours now if you want one! Frame Yours for the WallThese sheets are so visually stunning that we know many of you frame them for the wall. That way, they also make stunning presents. We don't offer our sheet framed at the moment but we do offer it mounted, ready to drop into a standard 14x11 inch frame. The mount is cream in colour - nice and neutral, to work with your own colour scheme. The mount will not cause any damage to your stamp sheet, allowing you to frame it for the wall without risking your investment. The sheets simply slip into the mount without need for damaging tape.
This sheet was automatically reserved for members of our Sheet Club - and at the lowest possible prices. It pays to buy Buckingham Stamp Sheets as soon as they are issued. If you wait, the chances are they will sell out and you'll end up paying more in the future. If you love our sheets, we recommend you join the Sheet Club. There are lots of perks and no commitment whatsoever!
40th Anniversary Moon Landing Medal CoverTo accompany the Moon Landing stamp sheet, we've also produced a cover that all collectors will love. Featuring a medal designed by Cath Buckingham, this cover is also available signed by Dr Edgar Mitchell and is a real must-have for your Space Collection.
If you like all things Space-related...Then why not check out our other space covers. Our Space Tourism cover was where it all began - the first ever Buckingham Cover and the subject of the stamps was, aptly enough, The Future!
