Design Icon of the 20th Century![]() When Royal Mail announced a set of stamps called "World of Invention", we instantly thought of Concorde, first lady of the skies. Our superb cover shows the iconic aircraft in all her glory and the stamps are cancelled with our Heathrow postmark on the day of issue. As we know some that some of our collectors prefer Miniature Sheets to stamps, we also created a Miniature Sheet version of this cover. A small number of the stamp covers were personally signed by Professor Ffowcs-Williams, second holder of the Frank Whittle medal. He was also the man who was prominent in the Concorde programme for directing the research to control its take-off noise. The miniature sheet cover is available signed by Concorde Captain Jock Lowe. In addition to this, we also have a fantastic multi-signed cover signed by SIX Concorde Captains: John Chorley, Jock Lowe, Les Evans, Andy Mills, Harry Linfield and Martin Robson. Quick Facts: World of Invention: Concorde is a First-day Cover Issue date (2007-03-01): 01 March 2007 Here are the options for this design.
