Should you see our sheets as investments?

Stamp sheets are a very new collectable. That means no one can say for sure what will happen to their prices in the future - or whether they are a 5 minute wonder or a long term investment.

Certainly, at the moment they are hot and there is no reason for that not to carry on.

Prices are rising fast and our sheets do sell out. So in the short term, buying our sheets may well prove an investment for you.

However, the word "investment" implies risk. No one can promise you a cast-iron investment. It isn't written in the stars that each sheet we produce will go wildly up in value.

Here's a Flavour of What We Do:

For that reason, we recommend that you buy first and foremost because you love our sheets and you'll get pleasure from owning them and looking at them. We would like to think that if they go up in value, that is the icing on the cake, not the cake itself!

Having said all that, it is true that many of our sheets have proved amazing investments in a very short time.

Our first ever sheet, which was for Concorde (BCSHEET01), sold out within days. When we sold it back in 2006, it was £19.95. These days, it is rare to see one for sale but when the odd one turns up on eBay, you can expect to pay £95+ for it. How 's that for a quick price rise?!

We actively look to buy back our sheets, after they sell out, because we have waiting lists of collectors hoping to get hold of them (the people who don't want put all their eggs in eBay's basket!).

What that means for you, is that if you buy our sheets in advance and we sell out, you may find WE will pay YOU more than you paid in the first place!

For example, our Eurostar sheet oversold so badly that within a week of release, we were prepared to pay several poundss more than we sold them for!

Best way forward?

If you love our sheets anyway and perhaps also fancy their chances as an investment for you, the best way forward is to join one of our Sheet Clubs. You can read about all about it here and even join online.

Some collectors join a Sheet Club and ask to buy 2 of each (one to keep, and one eventually to sell). You are welcome to do this but do remember what we said about no investment being a given!

The Holy Grail of Buckingham Sheets

The Buckingham stamp sheet presentation pack collection grows steadily year on year. Our first stamp sheet was produced in 2006 and overall there are approximately 12 sheets released a year. Every one is stunning with some super sell-outs for Concorde, QE2 and the Dambusters.
